I am a cat magnet. I have no idea how they find me, but they do. With alarming regularity.
I have 4 indoor cats, and several outdoor ferals (which to be perfectly honest is probably how they find me, bc of the food ) - I can't take any more in for a variety of reasons.
But a young, all-orange (no white feet or bib) male showed up last week. He is SUPER friendly and gregarious and silly and flirtatious. I've started to call him "Monkey" which my husband has adapted as "Minkey" after they way Peter Sellers' Inspector Clouseau pronounces the word "monkey".
He's always here at dusk or night, so I don't have good photos yet, but he looks like these two fellas:
HE NEEDS A GOOD HOME! I have him on the list for the next neutering trip a local rescue runs (sometime in October) and can cover neutering and rabies. I'd love to know he had a home to go to after that. He's on the wait list for the foster system here, too, but they're completely overwhelmed (it was a crazy kitten summer here) so I don't know when he'd be placed.
I'm in the NoVirginia area; if you're interested at all in this fella, or know someone who adores orange male tabbies, please let me know. He could be a great farm / barn cat, too. But he LOVES humans, and is curious but not aggressive toward my other cats. He just wants to play.
Please keep this kicked. Thank you.

(13,661 posts)Monkey's a cool dude. Definitely want him to have a loving home. Harder for him to be placed through rescues because of his age... so many people overlook the older ones for the kittens.

(46,179 posts)My existing cat did not take well to a newcomer. She's still pissy and irritable, fighting over territory...especially me. Another one would be even more competition and stress for her.

(10,419 posts)I've fostered many cats, including an adorable orange chunk named Cheeto.
Despite extensive medical issues, he lived a long, happy life with one of my coworkers.
When she bought her first house, she proudly told me Cheeto would have his own room!

I don't think I'd ever move back to SoCal (unless it was to the desert) but I do love the state and miss it a lot. I'd consider NoCal, but somewhere less densely populated than the bay area.

The (thousands of) chatters are from all over the world, including the US, and they are all crazy for cats.
Also, ginger boys are particularly popular with many of them.

(13,661 posts)at least, the Facebook part of it? I'm not a FB member and have no desire to become one ... as soon as I can get a real photo of him, another cat-loving friend of mine is going to post his info on her FB page. But the more orange-boy-tabby-lovers who know of him, the better.
Are you a member of the Livestream community? I'm not there, either (my only membership, really, is here at DU).
He is FEARLESS. I was out with him a little earlier. Fearless and incredibly inquisitive. He needs a good, watchful momma (or daddy).
