2. The left has been on this shit for over 150 years.

The US started the persecution of anti-capitalists a few years after this poster would have been printed. 800 people deported and the IWW outlawed in some states. Anyone who seemed vaguely "Red" was subject to attacks. One should also look at the level below-"We shoot at you". The Palmer Raids were the first operation (with help by a very junior man named J. Edgar Hoover) in 1919.

I got a reproduction of this in the 90's. If you look through the literature and paraphernalia of the Communist and Socialist movements going back before the Civil war everything will look exactly the same.
