The "art" market bottom has fallen out. The above "painting" (forgive the use of quotation marks, but, hell this article deserves them) by the "artist" This week, estimates for three Lucien Smith pieces are as low as $7,000. One, from the series he made by spraying more than 200 canvases with paint from a fire extinguisher, is estimated at $12,000 to $18,000. A bigger spray work sold for $372,120 two years ago.

Unwound rope hanging from a wooden rod may bring a few thousand but nothing like Lucy Dodd's earlier work done with fermented walnuts (Yes, you read that right) which sold for $37,500

Too bad for my daughter, who owns an almost Old Master, and has been waiting for some possible action in the London market.
