Rarely is it a good idea to use the apprehension of a bomb suspect as a segue to share your thoughts on a professional athlete.
That's what Republican New York Congressman Lee Zeldin learned on Monday, when he used the arrest of possible Chelsea bomber Ahmad Khan Rahami as an opportunity to tweet out this Colin Kaepernick zinger:
Zeldin is a Long Island native and was deployed to Iraq in 2006 with the 82nd Airborne Division. He's been a US Congressman since being elected in 2014 and describes himself on his website as "one of the nation's leading proponents for a stronger foreign policy that defeats ISIS and other terrorist threats, secures our homeland, corrects a deeply flawed Iran nuclear agreement, and improves our relationships with our allies and treats our enemies as our enemies."
He is currently running for re-election, seemingly on an anti-Kaepernick campaign.
