Aaarggghhh! Just needed to vent.

I know one should never argue with friends-of-friends on Facebook, but I have made the mistake of doing just this. This is someone (very highly educated, by the way) who says that Clinton is worse than Trump; that Trump is at least 'not aggressive'; that he feels this way because he is French, and as a Frenchman he is pro-Russian, and that to be anti-Putin is anti-Russian; and that Trump is the American Gorbachev, and will win!

At least if he's French, he probably can't vote in America, but gaaaah!!

I am even less patient with this sort of thing since the UK got itself into such an almighty mess due to Farage et al.

Putin is not to be trusted and he certainly doesn't have the best interests of the US in mind.

I don't think he (my Facebook opponent, not Putin!) has any influence on the US or its elections; but I am a little worried about what this implies about his attitudes to Europaean issues. Which are in their own crisis situation, not helped by my own country's current actions, I'm afraid.

Do you think a lot of people share his views? I still don't think it's a big deal. As for Brexit, I'm a dual US-UK citizen, whose options just got a lot narrower if Trump gets elected.

Jerry Lewis was the finest American comedian in history. There is no accounting for taste, especially among the French.

I say this as someone with half Alsatian roots who dined on frog frequently in her youth.

I don't mind non voters holding stupid opinions, they're irrelevant. I do mind the voters one has to deal with here in the US. Trump's Chumps are the absolute dregs of this country, no hopers desperate for someone else to look down on. Trump supplies them with that.

He'd be an unmitigated disaster in office. We'd be praying for a military coup if he got in.

I can't recall an instance where they've ever been persuaded that Hillary is a far better choice than Don the Con. It feels good if they have other friends who pile on, but I find a lot of people would just rather avoid a political debate, especially when their identities are known.
