Heads up! Drones catch 30 drivers breaking the law on first day on the job

Look, up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane, no wait, it's a drone getting ready to write you a ticket.

On the first day of Mid-Autumn Festival hard-working traffic police in Chengdu were out flying drones. The force's "new recruits" can fly 50 meters above the ground, film video and transmit it over for an officer to watch.

Drivers who illegally use the emergency lane, stop or reverse on the highway, and throw trash out the window, beware; no uncivilized highway behavior escapes their eagle eye, just so long as the sky is clear.

NetEase reports that on its first day on the job, the drone squad managed to catch 30 lawbreakers during the Mid-Autumn Festival travel rush. Police say that we may see more similar patrols during future national holidays.

Well, we guess there are worse ways to use a drone.
