I stopped giving a crap what anyone here thought about me living in the world of reality a very long time ago. Maybe it's because I have many friends in Chelsea and have to take both a commuter train and the subway to get to work. I can't afford to live in the world of make believe.

an Islamophobe because some anonymous poster I don't give a crap about calls me one? Sorry, real life doesn't work that way. People who ACTUALLY know me, know I'm nothing of the kind. If you want to deny the odds were with this being a Muslim committing an act of terror, that's entirely your problem.

you don't seem to get that that is exactly what you do.

"Trump: Racial profiling may be necessary

"We're allowing these people to come into our country and destroy our country and make it unsafe for people. We're allowing these people to come in," Trump said on "Fox & Friends."

"We don't want to do any profiling. If somebody looks like he's got a massive bomb on his back, we won't go up to that person ... because, if he looks like he comes from that part of the world, we're not allowed to profile. Give me a break."

In June, the GOP nominee said the U.S. needs to start looking into the use of profiling to stop terrorism.

He said he doesn't like the concept, but it may be necessary."

sound familiar?
to me sounds exactly like what you said.
You justify your racial profiling by saying that you have to take the train, as if one has to do with the other.

racial profiling is racial profiling

and if you want to do that, acknowledge it.

for assuming the terrorists were Muslims. THAT's what this thread was about - not racial profiling - unless you think playing the obvious odds makes us all haters. While I was texting all my friends in Chelsea on Saturday to make sure they were all right was I assuming the culprits were Muslim terrorists? You bet your ass I was - and it looks like I was absolutely right. Funny how you want to ignore THAT part of it.

And they were thinking the exact same thing I was. They don't live with their heads in the sand and will be the first to scream from the rooftops that far too many of their co-religionists have become radicalized and it needs to stop. Sorry your friends want to pretend otherwise. Anyone who wants to pretend their first thoughts weren't that these were Muslim terrorists is lying to themselves which is not my problem.

been dealing with this crap since 9/11. They're the ones that pointed out to me that with over 1 billion Muslims, even if only 1% were radicalized, that still means 100 million terrorists. They don't like the reality - but they don't ignore it either.

Mon Sep 19, 2016, 09:49 AM

i feel like this is become a weird conversation. i think it's fine to think a random home made bomb is likely to have a muslim suspect, just as when there is a random shooting I think it's a young white guy, there are trends in sociopathic behavior. I am against calling refugees rapists (which maybe you are too), so maybe all of this circular conversation started with a misunderstanding of the twitter handle.

Between the rain, Chelsea and the UN, the city is at a standstill. Perhaps the original poster should have made sure I knew what that mess meant before accusing me of being a hater and Islamophobe (I'm often called that here because I don't think either the US or Israel is the root of all evil). But since it was my assumption that it was Islamic extremists that seems to have set them off, I don't think the twitter crap really mattered.

Hope the weather is kinder where you are.

Edited to change US to UN in first sentence.

Car company is blaming a combination of Chelsea, the rain and the UN. Underground is definitely the way to go but even then leave yourself some extra time. Good luck.
