An absolutely ridiculous and depressing tale how Erdogan's Turkey deals with critics.

Turkey retaliates against critical journalist by arresting his son for trumped-up charges.

Dr. Ahmet Yayla has written a book how Turkey supported ISIS with arms.

He’d dodged ISIS but landed in the target sights of the Turkish government when he co-wrote a book called Isis Defectors: Inside Stories of the Terrorist Caliphate, in which former ISIS fighters claimed that the Turkish government provided them with arms, explosives, and weapons, and allowed them free passage over the border in 2014 and 2015 before Turkey finally turned on ISIS as demanded by the Obama administration.

In the wake of the putsch, his 19yo son Yavuz Yayla was arrested for owning a dollar-bill.

A dollar-bill.

Because there is a rumor that Gülen somehow used the serial-numbers of dollar-bills for secret communication.

The house where he lived was searched by police, but nothing tying him to Gülen was found. He was brought before a judge and the charges were dropped.

He was re-arrested right at the prison-gate.
His crime? Terrorism.
The evidence? The government had revoked his passport and only the passports of terrorists get revoked. Therefore, he must be a terrorist.

The lawyer who represented Yavuz Yayla was threatened by turkish intelligence agents into dropping the case and no other lawyer is now willing to represent Yavuz Yayla.
