(26,582 posts)While I detest his politics, I respect him for not doing down to the RNC's strong arm tactics to embrace Trump.

(19,565 posts)He'll be able to be viewed as the ethical, conservative choice who stands by his convictions if he positions himself correctly here. It could garner him a decent following of traditional GOP voters.
It's not unlike what Cruz did, except with the religious RW and Tea Party members, in the years leading up to 2016. Which almost worked out for him.

(26,582 posts)And Trump just disgusts her. She doesn't view Trump as a conservative. I think it's similar for Kasich.

(4,341 posts)Question is, if she viewed Trump as a conservative, even though his behaviour was the same, vile, nasty, racist, etc...just because she thinks he is a conservative, would she vote for him?

(26,582 posts)And she detests the "vile, nasty, racist" person that he is. So no, she wouldn't vote for him then.

(37,540 posts)Wbile I cheer that there is a wing of the Party that calls BS on the poor bastards that need to support a candidate that has no roots in the RNC, I hope that they kill each other. Trump is the last gasp of an opposition party that can't be taken seriously as a governing Party.

(2,577 posts)He is already campaigning out of Ohio (which is okay because we don't miss him when he's gone). That being said, I do love it when he stands up to Trump and Priebus. It's interesting how the precious Rob Portman is standing with Trump and not Kasich.

Divine Discontent
(21,056 posts)I saw one tweet reply that tells his strategist not to worry because Ohio will punish him next election so the RNC doesn't have to, and all the likes for the comment were by extremists with profiles that said don't call me racist because Im for Trump, or had Trump in green skin color and that Pepe frog next to him, etc... They're disgusted with Kasich, a run-of-the-mill 90's Republican, so you know they're cuckoo about Dems... sickos..

(1,926 posts)Still what he calls "conservative" is bad for our families, our nation, and our world.
Conservative now simply means corporate sellout.

(11,278 posts)Kasich is still a compassionate, conservative, born-again hypocrite, who would take us back to 1956 if he had his way.
