Democrats need to find a way to tie the Republicans to Donald Trump.

They voted for Donald Trump over 16 other mainstream Republicans. It's not that they loved Donald Trump as much as it is about how much they hated the Republicans in Congress. Their anger was directed toward Republicans, not Donald Trump.

Perhaps they need to be reminded why they are angry?

They should not forget who they really hate.

that was Kasich. All the others were as off their rockers as trump, just by different degrees.

The dirty little secret is that a large number of people who are republicans are racist, sexist, xenophobes

Would it be good to tie them with Trump, whom they seem to like a whole lot more than the establishment Republicans? I think there is a strategy in there somewhere?

They well know why 40% or so voted for Trump and the rest were split. Mostly it's because of name recognition. Also they were mad--not just at the (R) in Congress, otherwise they would have voted (D) (now wouldn't they? Follow your logic.)

They were upset at the dysfunction, and in both the (D) and (R) ranks "dysfunction" is always the other guy's fault. Never your own, and very seldom your representative's--and the more embattled your representative, the less it's your guy's fault.

They hate Hillary as much or more than they hate the Republican establishment. There is no logic for them to vote Democratic. But you are correct in that voters seldom blame their own representatives. Once they vote for someone, anyone, they feel they have an investment in them.
