I don't understand the logic of Bill Press

Bill has come out against the football not standing for the national anthem but as he said this morning, he is all for amnesty for Edward Snowden.

Not standing during the national anthem hurts no one and is protected by the constitution but what Snowden did has put a lot of lives in danger.

It is getting sad when one of the few remaining Democratic entertainers can't understand when a true crime is committed.

I think.

The Kaepernick / Snowden examples seem to me to have to do with the individual's relationship with power, with who wields power, how he or she uses it, and to what extent having or not having power defines one's relationship to authority.

And while Snowden had the power the government entrusted him, the athletes used the power of their prestige and popularity.

It is different because we as citizens, through our elected leaders, gave Snowden power over our safety. We the people also gave athletes power but only for our entertainment.

I believe our safety is much more important.
