(22,899 posts)Are you enjoying the wonderfully mild temps we've had in August and, apparently, September??
I sure am.
Bring Autumn on!!

(149,699 posts)It's a bit cooler and less humid too.
I hope we have a cold, wet winter.......we need the water so much.

(54,436 posts)I love her too (who doesn't?), just never had anyone with a camera nearby when we met up. I'd post that pic in a heartbeat!

(22,380 posts)I am so very proud he came on our scene and has done himself so proud as to go down as of one of the best Presidents we have had. I'm especially loving him today for intervening about the pipeline. So very grateful and appreciative. I'd like to put my coat down on a puddle so he can walk across.
About his color: I have walked by my TV many times and the thought popped in: Eh, have you had a long weekend in the sun???? And then I do a face palm.
It's like with my friends who have different pigment, we are all who we are and look how we look and it's how we act towards each other that makes us be separate.

(9,733 posts)But I would not repeal the 22nd amendment. Reagan certainly would have won a 3rd term, and B*shit probably would have.

He does look handsome!
The lovely FLOTUS is one lucky lady.
POTUS is a fox. I will miss this entirely beautiful first family.

(61,698 posts)He reminds me of that movie, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels when Michael Caine is training Steve Martin how to dress and behave like a European gentleman/gigolo. He did that casual lean onto the doorway while holding a martini or aperitif or something.

I'm going to miss them.

(6,592 posts)After all he's been through, for us, and he can still look like that.
I want to hug that man's neck.
Couldn't afford it during the campaigns, but if he teaches Sunday school, like Jimmy, I, an atheist, would attend in order to have the opportunity to hug his neck.
I'd rather attend a lecture on the Constitution, though.... ;->

(26,289 posts)The look of confidence while being so incredibly casual - a man who is truly comfortable in his own skin.
I've been fortunate enough to meet a lot of amazing people that I have long admired, like Jennifer Granholm, John Kerry, Max Cleland and Al Gore, but meeting Barack Obama would be the apex experience.

(6,592 posts)There's not that many reasons, or avenues, that one gets in his position.
Connections help, but I don't think he started out with any.
Smarts, education, motivation, developing connections. That's a lot of work.
Motivation - me or we? Well, I do still think he's a corporatist, and I can see how he (I assume) found it necessary, whether I agree or not.
But do I think he's basically for we the people? Well, duh.
Am I grateful? Well, duh.
