Judge in standoff case rules on evidence -- #BundyTeaParty

By Maxine Bernstein | The Oregonian/OregonLive

... Defendants can testify about their intent to stake claim to the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge through the theory of adverse possession, but it's not a legal defense to the alleged crime of conspiracy ...

Statements Ammon Bundy and Ryan Payne made to Harney County Sheriff Dave Ward before the refuge takeover, promising "extreme civil unrest'' if the sheriff didn't protect Harney County ranchers Dwight Hammond Jr. and Steve Hammond are allowed in at trial as pertaining to the alleged conspiracy. Any statements the defendants made to the media about the refuge takeover also can be introduced at trial as evidence. Yet statements a defendant made after their arrest can only be used against the defendant who uttered the words, and not to show the furtherance of the alleged conspiracy by co-defendants ...

... the ongoing investigation into an FBI agent's alleged firing of a gun at occupation spokesman Robert "LaVoy'' Finicum and alleged coverup by fellow FBI agents is not relevant to the conspiracy case ...

Pete Santilli's ... remarks that a counter protester "better not bring a butter knife to a gunfight,'' is admissible as it is relevant to Santilli's alleged intent, and government's theory as to why firearms were brought to the refuge ...

Just remove all of their U.S. citizen's status and put them on a boat elsewhere.

Let them apply for citizen status like all other immigrants, and swear to uphold out constitution.

protect their Pocket version of the Constitution written by C.Skousen. With special footnotes supplied by Ezra Taft Benson and others in the General Authority

Interesting bunch of Angry White People playing their Victim Card. Now if their skin tone was different, the press would label them as terrorist and should all be locked up or sent back where they came from.

It all started from them using public land without regard to the rules, if I remember correctly.

since our encounter with one of the Bundy's in 08'. What a dick-wad! Talk about damage to the area, now you know why it has to be preserved.

These folks need a major reality check, and there is no way this bunch will be able to cover the fines and other penalties. Understand, all their real assets have been moved to special untouchable trusts. Typical of these moochers.
