Went sailing in the Lofoten Islands above the Arctic Circle in Norway, 37' boat.. drop a line in the water with 5 hooks on it and a sinker., no pole, nothing, just a fishing line.. Count to ten and pull it up... 3 mackerel and 2 whiting..clean, cut off heads, filet, and slice into sashimi right on the boat.
EAT IT!!

(24,890 posts)Great for sushi too. But carrots and not stripping the seas of all digestible things!
I have made it four times now. It is insanely good.

(24,890 posts)My only problem has been finding decent sized carrots. They are so thin in big stores where I live.
I also took the small pieces and mixed it with vegan cream cheese and made "salmon spread". That might take some more test runs...

My opinion? Yeppers! Hopefully right next to the taco truck...
And right next to the Suomilainen Pasty trucks!
Here (but not enough gravy):

Zowee! Spicy hot! And good!
Plenty of room for many trucks.
Let's have food from all over the world, all served fresh from trucks on corners everywhere. We ought to start in Mississippi, Alabama, and Texas.
Yummy!

(40,416 posts)Although, he eats them, I think.
I'm good with most food, though. Just not Cephalopods. Just my personal preferences.
I am Norwegian and Suomilainen (Finn) but don't ask me to eat lutefisk. But pickled herring? Yummy!
Your posts are always fun.
But I would support all the octopod balls trucks that anybody wants.

(41,831 posts)are part of Japanese cuisine. I don't order if much because of the non flavor, and rubbery texture but, Tacoyaki is simply amazing, mostly because its finely grounded into the batter.
longship
(40,416 posts)But my objection is the same as yours.
BTW, I don't like lutefisk because who wants to eat baked fishy jello? (They smother it in a tasteless sauce, too.)
Blecch! And I am Norwegian!
yuiyoshida
(41,831 posts)but that is not Japan.
Tako sushi is dipped in soy sauce (not the cheap stuff, but the brewed stuff) and wasabi is used for taste. I prefer it with other fish, but its certainly not a tasteless sauce. Wasabi is anything but tasteless.

(Note: I appreciate the likely unintended joke of Tako truck - where Tako is octopus)
