Anyone who watched Meet the Press today please correct me if I'm wrong... but I believe Reince Priebus said (in the same breath, no less) that it was the 2008 Clinton campaign that started the birther movement and that Secretary Clinton "revealed state secrets." Of course, Chuck Todd just let him say both of these things without challenging him.
Surely Priebus is toast when Trump loses, don't you think? He can go work as a lobbyist or at a right wing think tank... and/or as a commentator on "the shows," but he will certainly be out as party chair.

the establishment to buy into the Trump ticket, which was a capitulation of any bit of remaining integrity within the RNC.
