Sad deluded Jew says he's a member of anti-Semitic alt-right. The alt-right begs to differ.https://twitter.com/Yair_Rosenberg/status/769712158175363072

(58,724 posts)Though he only started it recently, so maybe.
I had no idea from whence this one came. I don't have a lot of "off time" until October or November depending on funding. Mostly I'm pounding the pavement or dirt roads out in the wilderness.

(58,724 posts)I think he is a genuine right-winger who knew he'd get attention for his article and website with a piece like this.
a rovian move (adopted and professionalized by drumpf)... spew outrageous bile for attention and getting it.

(738 posts)... it's a catch all self description for right wing fringies who aren't religious right types.
So sure there can be a Jewish one along with the various Nazis, "race realists", monarchists, and assorted other whackos.

(35,309 posts)Alt-right is diverse in viewpoints because it's a grab-bag of views set up by others. Some have appropriated the name for themselves, but that doesn't define the group ... Just that part of the group.
Some sections want to define it in terms exclusive to themselves, like some progressives like to rule out some self-described progressives on the grounds of ideological imperfection. Again, it's a diverse group, however some may want to narrow the definition to include just some groups while expecting us to include all groups in that narrow definition.
You can be Jewish and be alt-right: paleocon, nativist, very conservative but not anti-semitic. You can be less conservative and Jew-hating. What you can't do is redefine alt-right to be just one of those but still claim that all groups that are included in the alt-right bucket fit that newly narrow definition.
