In my humble opinion, when male police officers command a woman to remove her clothing - for ANY reason - it is sexist!
French police make woman remove burkini on Nice beach
Photographs have emerged of armed French police confronting a woman on a beach and making her remove some of her clothing as part of a controversial ban on the burkini.
Authorities in several French towns have implemented bans on the burkini, which covers the body and head, citing concerns about religious clothing in the wake of recent terrorist killings in the country.https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/aug/24/french-police-make-woman-remove-burkini-on-nice-beach
Does this song seem to describe the incident?

(15,882 posts)a wonder they stopped there. I guess they could have raped or killed her for not complying?
Hard for the misogynists in blue to get much more sexist than this. Think any of these big, tough, French soldiers earned a purple heart for this dangerous exercise in molesting a woman?

(2,536 posts)They weren't a "buncha bullies" they were cops doing their jobs.
They weren't "making her take her clothes off" they explained the situation and told her that she could leave, be ticketed, or change her clothes.
And, although I've never lived in France, my guess is that raping and killing for non compliance of police orders is not how they are trained to handle the situation.
And where is the "molestation" you claim?
.....so, yeah, hyperbolic is the right word to describe your post....
Oh, and cute way to bail out of a discussion that calls you out....can't or unwilling to discuss on the facts just bail.
Anyway, you've made yourself clear for all to see so nothing more needed.

There is irony, but you are measuring it in a different place than you think.

(10,597 posts)I wish the adults of the world would speak up. No, this has nothing to do with "sexism." The people of France are scared to death right now because of the terrorism that has befallen their country in the last year. Just like here in the US after 9/11, Muslims are being discriminated against in many ways.
