I don't think Bannon or Conlon are stupid, so why have they hitched their wagons to Trump's star? Surely they know he will lose the election.
Bannon has already said he want's to "burn down" the current Republican party. I believe he thinks they have become too liberal. He wants to just wipe it out and start over.
Trump is his boy because it looks like he can do just that.
Also, he's now on the payroll so he's actually getting paid to do what he wanted to do anyway.
Conlon is just here for the cash. She was very much against Trump when Cruz was paying her. Now Trump is paying her so rah rah sis boom bah GO TRUMP!
Now their main job is to keep Trump happy and his ego inflated.
He gets to be Trump at least part of the time.
Hence he gets to go preach to the choir in Mississippi soon.
Mississippi will go Trump as will my home state of Alabama.
I guess he'll come here after Mississippi.

(54,256 posts)I whored my skills out to a Japanese corporation for 10 years.
They paid much more than a comparable U.S. corporation for my expertise.

(54,256 posts)"Freely choosing to work for a company with employment skills that you have developed" is just what I think Conlon has done, love her or hate her.
I had to go through some pretty juvenile, demeaning shit to land the job with the Japanese. I was with a dozen other guys and we decided to just suck it up, early on, because the benefits far outweighed the bullshit conditions.
Bannon is a little different.
He appears to me to be a self proclaimed bomb thrower.
Now he's just in the (somewhat) enviable position of being paid to heave the bombs.
It's a win-win for him and Trump.
Just IMHO.

(54,256 posts)I thought .
How could that be?
How could two people who are diametrically opposed politically live together?
That's when it hit me.
It's a business to them.
It's a job.
Nothing more, nothing less.
meh
Color me 'disillusioned'.
