(36,063 posts)"Moderate" and "Centrist" are floating terms. Trump's rhetoric is moving the outlying points of political behavior enough to leverage what that means. We are fascinated with the badness of Trump and aren't paying attention to the center.
I don't have a crystal ball, I can't tell the future, but I expect a large eccentric weight spinning energetically on the periphery to endanger the hub.
It's obvious that many republican elected officials feel that their party is leaving them, and many of those leaders have become Refugee Republicans, and they're beginning to look like a sizable diaspora. Whatever political shore they land on, we can expect them to set up shop.

(7,820 posts)With expat Repugs coming out for Hillary. I worry that they're leaving their party to the crazies and will attempt pushing ours further right (as they've been doing for decades)
