A business colleague spent several years in New York City where we developed a solid professional friendship. Our conversations have often revolved around the politics of our respective nations and we amuse one another with our mutual attempts to understand the particulars of one another's country.
Today, she sent me this observation:
If Hillary Clinton wins the U.S. presidential election, it will be the first time in history that two U.S. presidents have slept together.
If Donald Trump wins the U.S. presidential election, it will be the first time in history that a "billionaire" moves into public housing vacated by a black family.
Amusing thoughts!

(111,339 posts)putting those old, tacky, threadbare antiques into storage (who cares who sat here?) while he covers the walls with marble paneling and encrusts everything that doesn't get out of the way with gilt, moving in ultra modern white carpets and white upholstered furniture. We already know he prefers reproduction French palace furniture to genuine American antiques.
Heh, it would almost be worth seeing the fit he'd blow when they told him he couldn't do it because it's not his house.

(51,076 posts)He's already throwing fits daily.
he's a dunce and not much more can be said for him.
He'll grow to RUE the day he entered into this race
We'll not hear much from tRump after this, I'd bet on it
providing I was a betting man that is

(22,048 posts)Donald Trump is a dunce, as you say, madokie. He's also an idiot.
Along with my fellow New Yorkers, I've had to endure this jackass living his life in the public eye since the early 1980's. I've always found him to be a disgusting human being and the literal definition of hypocrisy.
My fervent hope is that his demise is of Classical proportions that will define the destruction of the Age of Greed.
A man has to hope.

(129,442 posts)yet my father was a blonde until about age 4 when his hair turned to dark brown. Same with my little sister. I wouldn't consider that as being a natural "blonde". I always heard you could usually tell by the eyebrow color (unless you dye them - which people sometimes do - or even draw them on as was the fashion for years )!

(5,856 posts)"Billionaire"..,seeing as the jury is still out on how much he's really worth, any claim must be placed in quotes.

(22,048 posts)Actually, when I posted the OP, I was going to add parenthetically "as far as we know." At the time, I thought that was too snarky.
Good catch, underpants!

(23,286 posts)...it's possible Bush the Lesser slept with mummy and Poppy when he was three and got skeered of boogiemen under his bed.....
Or John Quincy Adams slept a night or two with papa John as a boy......
(not gonna speculate on anything the Harrisons did......)

(22,048 posts)Let's face it. All those Founding Fathers wore wigs. What does that tell you?!
And a lot of them, notably Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin spent an awful lot of time in... wait for it... FRANCE!
In fact, the Founding Fathers were actually the ultra liberals of their era. Could their open-mindedness have extended into other areas of their lives?
(obviously, this is sarcasm)
