Trump Appears to be hurting Rubio in Florida

A new Quinnipiac poll finds Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) with a three-point lead over Rep. Patrick Murphy in the U.S. Senate race, 48% to 45%.

Last month, Rubio led by 13 points.

Said pollster Peter Brown: “At this stage of the campaign, Republican U.S. Senate candidates may be running against their own presidential nominee, Donald Trump, as much as they are against their Democratic opponents. The incumbent U.S. senators seeking re-election are running better than Trump. But if Trump continues to lag behind in the presidential race, that will make it more difficult for GOP candidates, logic holds, up and down the ballot.”

Taking down their golden boy "future President" would be a real feather in our cap.

I don't think it's likely but it no longer seems impossible.

Trump is driving the GOP bandwagon over a cliff. I think the congressional results are going to be the most surprising because a lot of GOPers are just going to stay home.

Isn't this the clown that doesn't vote or do his job and who also said he would not seek re-election? Surprised anyone would support such a doofus.

I live in his congressional district but I doubt most people in the state even knows who he is. This poll didn't ask for peoples favorably/unfavorably of Murphy but I think he'd have pretty high unknowns. I think the gives Murphy room to grow his support. While most people know who little Marco is.
