FBI Set To Investigate Trump’s Assassination Threat Against Clinton

Along with the FBI, the secret service is now looking into the death threat made by Donald Trump today against Hillary Clinton:

According to CNBC:

Screen Shot 2016-08-09 at 7.44.56 PM

A group of pro-Clinton Super PACs have called the FBI and demanded an investigation into Trump’s recent comments on Hillary Clinton and the Second Amendment, which were a barely disguised dog-whistle calling on “Second Amendment People” to assassinate the Democratic nominee or otherwise incite some kind of armed rebellion against the United States government.

“The Democratic Coalition Against Trump today reached out to high-level contacts in the Washington, D.C. field office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to voice concerns about Donald Trump’s call for violence against Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, and to argue that Trump should be arrested for attempting to incite political violence.

There is no place in American politics for this kind of disgusting rhetoric. Donald Trump should immediately drop out of the race, and he should be arrested for committing a federal crime. He’s proven himself to be nothing more than a thug, and anyone supporting him after this grotesque display should be publicly shamed. It’s truly abhorrent and we must all stand united – regardless of party affiliation to say loudly that Americans reject this kind of hateful and dangerous rhetoric.”

It is expected that the Secret Service will be looking into the matter as well, since his statements are a threat against former Presidents and certain other persons under 8 U.S.C. § 879 of the US Code – Section 879. Trump could even possibly face up to five years in prison for his treasonous talk.

This shocking statement by Trump is the culmination of years of anti-government sedition.

Trump claims he is the “law and order” candidate but he just violated a federal law that could put him behind bars until after Hillary finishes her first term as president. ...

According to 18 U.S. Code § 879,

Whoever knowingly and willfully threatens to kill, kidnap, or inflict bodily harm upon—
(1) a former President or a member of the immediate family of a former President;
(2) a member of the immediate family of the President, the President-elect, the Vice President, or the Vice President-elect;
(3) a major candidate for the office of President or Vice President, or a member of the immediate family of such candidate; or
(4) a person protected by the Secret Service under section 3056(a)(6);
shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both.

Trump did exactly this by calling for gun owners to shoot and kill Hillary Clinton.

He just said it was a good idea if somebody out there did it for him.

I love the idea of men in cheap suits with white socks showing up and leaning on him. He'll get a little scared and that always makes him angrier and more reckless.

Eventually, it might just be enough to get him arrested.

Well, okay. We all know that's what this asshole did. But: "Whoever knowingly and willfully threatens to kill, kidnap, or inflict bodily harm upon—"
That's big enough to drive a truck through. Unless there is proof that inciting violence was his plan, he's probably not going to be arrested. Don't get me wrong, I think he should be. We're not stupid (if we were we'd be supporting him) we all know what he did. But my guess is he'll be getting a very stern warning from law enforcement. If he's dumb enough to try it again.....

People of the world need to see that Trump is in big trouble for this. He has called for violence against someone who is beating his sorry ass in the polls. There is no way to spin it.

His followers might still plan something. We are not talking about Einsteins here.

Trump is absolutely disgusting.

But we are a nation of laws. The orange douche was either smart enough or lucky enough to have stepped on, but not over the line in regard to the law. In my opinion, he kept it just vague enough to avoid prosecution.

Why do they always want the mafia kingpins or the drug barons? They don't do anything but tell people what to do and collect the money. Maybe they don't even tell people what to do, they hint something to the ones beneath them in the hierarchy. They are as "clean" as Trump.

The DCAT "voiced concerns". That's about it.

The FBI has not said anything and there is no leak, let alone a credible leak, that they are about to do anything.

This overselling in headlines is a crap tactic websites use all the time and it just cheapens their reputation.
