Hillary should be so far ahead that Trump winning is a statistical possibility. Trump/Pence supporters are POS. They are not real Americans in any sense of the word. Trump and his supporters are a national embarrassment.

(7,906 posts)The fact that Hillary is up by anywhere from 8-15 is significant. In fact it's unprecedented. GOTV

(23,156 posts)hatred of Hillary that exists out there. Many otherwise sensible Republicans honestly think that a Hillary Clinton Presidency would be a total disaster (somewhat as we consider to possibility of a Donald Trump Presidency) and even if they are not crazy about the Donald, they'll vote for him over her.
I don't agree with that assessment, but posters here really ought to pay attention to what it's like outside the DU bubble.
It's not surprising at all that the race is as close as it is. It is precisely because Hillary has such high negatives (real or imagined) that this race is close at all.
But, you gotta dance with who brung 'ya.

Oh, and she IS ahead by 15 points in one poll.

(260 posts)and here I thought the party line was "polls suck, they skew Republican - not to be trusted". But wait, THIS poll says the things I want to believe so forget I said that other thing.
It's August. You gonna put all your stock in polls in August?
I'm not. Hillary ain't Obama.

Stop Trump-humpin' and realize what is at stake.

SheilaT, we all need to be careful not to ascribe our own passions and misunderstandings to others. This is how millions end up shocked and crying with rage election after election when the "unthinkable" that only they couldn't see coming happens. Yet again.

(7,906 posts)The hatred comes from the extreme right, and apparently the extreme left.
Rational people get it. And they are all on board with Hillary Clinton.
The polls show that overwhelmingly.
Please, again, find another place to post your hate. The rest of us don't have time for your shit.

(14,016 posts)not voting for Drumpf. Of course, most dedicated Republicans aren't what I would describe as sensible in the first place. Their hatred of Hillary and CT's about her proves that.

(24,396 posts)Why not make it 20 or 30 points while you're at it? I'm sure such a number would be even more impressive than 15.

DU is not the place to pimp Kasich or Rubio.

Your ass is showing and you look ridiculous.
The thread you devoted to that... 'clever' line sank pretty fast. Sometimes it's best to just acknowledge the polite silence and stop tap dancing. It's pretty obvious when you bump your own thread, too-- just fyi.

(34,582 posts)and you are being shortsighted if you underestimate tRump. I know we are, once again, expecting the death of the GOP, but they are still a danger, and are quite capable of riling their base up enough to drive a lot of their supporters to the polls. Thinking we have this in the bag is a dangerous mistake.

(14,016 posts)The Demographics just aren't with the GOP. Thank God for that. It would be a closer race but Hillary would still pull it off.

(5,082 posts)Look what happened to Hillarys equivalent on the Republican side, Jeb Bush. He didn't even place. It's not easy overcoming those hurdles but she's doing just fine. She's ahead by a lot and will increase that lead I believe. Trump is imploding so extremely it looks like someone paid him to take a dive and throw the fight. But your main point is really the important thing...after Hillary wins we still have all these racist idiots like a disease on America.

(33,599 posts)now you can ask those people how she is dishonest, and believe me, I've asked, and you only get mumbles about emails and speaker fees. But since "they" say she is, there must be something.
