Trump trap: Donors have no way to cancel recurring payments, remove credit card from campaign site

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/trump-donors-cancel-recurring-payments-campaign-website-article-1.2739968

Maybe this is how the Trump campaign plans to close the fund-raising gap with Hillary Clinton.

Donors to the GOP nominee’s flailing campaign are reporting that it is impossible to cancel recurring payments or remove their credit card information from the contribution page.

Allegations that Trump cons people are nothing new to the ruthless business magnate. He is the target of at least a staggering 3,500 lawsuits accusing him of not paying business owners for their services. He’s also been accused of defrauding former Trump University students who say they were swindled by the scam school’s real estate seminars.

Now supporters of his presidential bid are saying they are trapped into donating to his campaign even if they want out. News of the payment pitfall comes just after the campaign announced that it had raised roughly $82 million last month, mostly from small digital and mail-in donations.

Donald said he could shoot someone on 5th avenue and not lose votes, but fleecing folks 20 bucks a month might.

Dispute the charges, tell your bank to stop future payments to the Trump campaign, hit them with chargebacks.

Wait until those payments keep getting processed for months after the election.

Somewhere in Wasilla, an idiot is pissed she didn't think of that.

I have an eye for bullshit. A friend of my wife has a time share in Orlando, and we stayed there. The catch was you had to attend a huge sell meeting in which people were actually buying time shares, and the guy selling us was frustrated we were not buying...like no way.

That would be like buying into Trump University. And now some people are waking up. That's good. You don't want a time share sales type guy as your president.

signs up for a monthly payment to any entity -- insurance company, local NPR station -- it is almost impossible to cancel that payment.

I might be wrong, and others should speak up here.

I do have certain bills that are automatically taken from my checking account, but I try to be very careful about those. And NONE of them are a donation to anything. If I want to give money to a political candidate, I do it one donation at a time. That way I have control over my money.
