http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3723689/Paul-Manafort-says-ll-supporting-Paul-Ryan-president-gaffe-admitting-s-conflict-Trump-campaign.html"Is he trying to tell us something? Trump's election chief Paul Manafort slips and says after next week he'll be supporting Paul Ryan for PRESIDENT in awkward gaffe after admitting there's 'conflict' in the campaign"
"Appearing on CBS This Morning less than half an hour later Thursday, Manafort said, 'I support him as speaker and after next week Im going to be supporting him for a candidate for President.'"
I think this is a definite possibility, Manafort accidentally let loose intentions to replace Trump with Ryan
That guy rarely makes mistakes (except joining the trump campaign)

Republicans are no longer focused on the presidency. They've all but conceded the presidential race to Hillary. But they're going to fly under the radar as they pump big bucks into Senate and House races in order to keep a majority in the Senate and keep the House just to obstruct a Hillary Clinton presidency in the hope that the American people - most who don't follow politics - will blame Hillary Clinton when things don't get done in her first term and the American electorate will turn against Democrats in 2020.
I truly believe this is their scheme.

The right gushes over how brilliant they think he is.
He is fairly calm and spoken which makes the right call him focused and strong. Gag!
I'm just hoping that his feud with Trump ruins him.

(11,924 posts)I'm sure she must have teams of people working on the 'what if' -- or at least, I hope she does. If Trump keeps continuing with the degradation of his sanity at the current rate, he'll be nothing but a bubbling, blubbering puddle of goo by the election. I can't see anyone in charge of GOP behind the scenes machinations letting that happen.

(11,797 posts)it will be Paul Ryan if they decide to either replace Trump or run as an independent.

(33,198 posts)(By doing this, HC will only win by 4 or 5% instead of a 7 or 8%. You will smash the GOP base into a million small pieces. Possibly, damaging it for several election cycles. Which is death to a political party. You may retain the House, but, will still lose the Senate. So, go ahead. I have to ask, is it really worth this price solely to continue the total obstruction of any popularly elected Democratic President?)

(11,607 posts)Ryan was the only speaker I saw at the RNC who actually put forth a vision for the party and seemed somewhat appealing. Obviously, I don't share his vision, but I remember thinking "I am glad he is not their nominee."
