When this election is over, we along with historians and analysts, may look back to Mr. Khan holding up the Constitution with a photograph of his hero son behind him, as the defining moment of this election.
When Capt. Khan laid down his life to save his unit, he may have also saved America.

(53,339 posts)One recently retired as editor-in-chief of a conservative newspaper. He's an Army vet and father of an Afghan War combat vet and was an embedded reporter in Iraq early in the war. He made a Facebook post strongly supporting the Khans.
Another is a HS teacher who for many years has guided student projects supporting the troops, vets and military families. Her students recently conceived and successfully executed a project that raised nearly a half million dollars and built adjacent homes for a disabled Iraq War vet and his caregivers. More recently, they repaired severe storm damage to a disabled Vietnam vet's home. She's now off Trump and is seriously considering voting Libertarian. She normally doesn't do political posts on Facebook but she did in this case.
