North Idaho strip mall burns to the ground (story gets very weird)

http://cdapress.com/news/local_news/article_bed0c7f2-5a73-11e6-9ec8-63fe8c1551d9.html?_dc=514647899195.5519

There is a minister in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, by the name of Tim Remington. To keep from typing the name of the town over and over, I will abbreviate it to CDA.

Pastor Remington runs a megachurch called The Altar. It's your standard far-right church.

The church runs a drug and alcohol rehab program named Good Samaritan Rehabilitation. To fund this, the church set up a thrift store.

On March 5 of this year, Ted Cruz had a rally in CDA. Pastor Remington gave the invocation.

On March 6, a Marine veteran named Kyle Odom allegedly shot Pastor Remington six times with a .45-caliber pistol - I don't know what brand it was, but in case you're wondering, the Remington Arms Company makes .45-caliber pistols - at point-blank range as he was leaving the church after services. (Remington survived, which brings into question the adequacy of Marine Corps marksmanship training. He's back at work.) Mr. Odom then drove 385 miles to the Boise Airport, boarded a plane to Washington, DC, and threw a manifesto over the White House fence - the manifesto claims he shot the pastor because the pastor was a Martian. The Secret Service arrested him, ran a check on him, found he was wanted for attempted murder, and eventually mailed him back to us. Thanks to Mr. Odom, TSA now checks to see if you're on the lam before they let you on a plane. As far as anyone knows, Odom never had contact with Remington before Odom decided Remington needed to be ventilated.

Last night, the thrift store, plus the two businesses sharing the strip mall it was in, burned to the ground. Our fire chief says there's nothing left.

Interesting.

And amazing how fast that pastor was up on his feet after being hit by a .45 repeatedly. Isn't that the same caliber as the oft-maligned Desert Eagle? It's right around there, that's for sure. Six times.

And now there's a 'really interesting' spot in an area of the building, and they're positive there were no explosions, but...no idea what happened.

Eek!

Just out of synchronicity, I wonder what the odds are that the 'interesting section' coincide with either an underground chamber or the main office?

The church is in a residential area. The store was in a commercial strip about a mile away.

and that's why Remington was able to survive being plugged six times at point blank range with a relative cannon.

I don't suppose anybody extended Odom bail at the time the strip mall burned, did they?

I'm thinking someone who enrolled in Remington's rehab but didn't get cured is the prime suspect. It's expensive and he claims 85 percent success rate. The only way he gets that rate is to shoot 16 of every 20 who start the program.

Beautiful place but I was nervous there as a light skinned black woman. I got a lot of "what is she looks". My husband and I rented a car and drove around we saw a fair and decided to check it out because the wedding was an evening one. As we got closer we saw the white hoods and nothing but overweight white people who stared at our car my husband is white and at a glance I could pass for white but my husband said to me " let's get out of here fast"! It turned out we were in Hayden Lakes a white supremist area. We stayed more in our hotel room that trip than outside after that. I Couldn't wait to get on the plane back to SF.

In the county on our northern border, last election the head of the county KKK ran for sheriff...and got 1800 votes. When someone campaigns on a promise not to light any crosses during his term, you know you're screwed.

The pastor must have been in worse shape than everyone thought.

So where's the mystery? Just one less Martian for us to worry about.
