It's nice that the cars in the animation all stay in their lanes.

Actual traffic conditions in China - not so much.

Also very convenient that the animated traffic doesn't have delivery vans or any other vehicles above car height.

Someone in China is going to make a pile of money on this dumb idea, which has a larger footprint, greater complexity and less capacity than a monorail.

It's cute, but hardly a realistic way of dealing with bus traffic on China's congested urban streets under real world conditions.

Nice palm greasing vehicle, though.

Wasn't there a nutty made for TV movie in the 70's about a big bus?

The Big Bus is, truly, one of the most awful comedy spoofs ever made.

I saw it when it came out, and had for years looked for it on video.

I found a copy a while back and, yes, it truly is one of the most awful movies ever made. If you like bad movies for their cornball value, this is a winner.

About the only thing I remembered, but that scene is filed away in my collection of movie genius...

if all the vehicles are self driving and semi-trailer trucks are routed away from the bus routes...

Also, any sharp turns are going to have to be very carefully negotiated by all the vehicles on the road

We don't do much innovation at all in the way of commuting or travel.

You either have to drive or fly in most cases.

which is the main drag through town and hopelessly congested in spots. Local businesses are screaming bloody blue murder because of the construction mess and have lawyers fighting it tooth and nail--and it's just a damned bus lane, not even light rail.

This is why we can't have nice things, people want the unworkable mess they have instead of putting up with temporary inconvenience to get something far better that would increase their business enormously.

I know I'd visit some areas more often if I didn't have to deal with traffic and scarce parking.

First of all that bus idea is beyond stupid for a variety of reasons.

I look at technology innovation and the US leads the world. Granted we don't have a stupid accident causing bus but I think we will live.
