So this A.M. "insanity" and "intervention" are being used discussing a nominee for Prez/psstDRUMPF

(I had to be pedestrian in naming him just in case anybody chose to be confused.)

Well, if they succeed in ditching him "by early September," I wish this would set off a total re-do of the election apparatus: Six months max for a total campaign; four or five regional primaries, NO caucuses, proportional outcomes NOT winner-takes-all; no Citizens United.

I can dream.

They've shit their own bed, and they can just lie in it. I'm also highly disinclined to listen to any post-election "reset" talk. You don't get to do what the Republicans have done to the United States for the past 50 years and then say, "Okay, here's $20 that says let's forget all that unpleasantness." Penance must be done.

wouldn't work. I think it could possibly make him worse. I think they are just going to have to accept this as a loss and put as much distance between themselves and the nominee.

but Trump never listens to anyone unless they are lavishing him with praise and adoration.

The republican party has created this mess. Years of catering to the extreme and ignorant has produced a candidate like Trump. The party even gave into the crazy Tea Party candidates, who should have been contained and marginalized from the very beginning. It is the very republican trait that they want to win at any cost. Now the bill has come due.
