1. He can't be removed

As I understand it, he must quit - and they think (hope?) that is a strong possibility.

2. I think we need him to stay in

until October at least. If they get cute and put Jeb or Rubio in there, we might have a real problem. Trump helps us in both the Presidential and down ticket. The other options, except Cruz, help them.

I don't think they will go with Pence, but they might, he is REALLY right wing, he was about to lose in Indiana and that never happens.

Do I think his crazy supporters will write him in, yes, but I think if they have the time they can scare these gun huggers with the Supreme Court and they will follow along.

I will get some sleep once the election is over.

3. Well, it would depend with whom they replace Trump with.

If it is a moderate Republican establishment candidate, it may hurt Hillary with those right leaning moderates voting for her just because she isn't Trump. Hillary may lose a large chunk of voters.

9. Don't know, but I figured he'd never drop it voluntarily

Oh, he'd be willing to drop the responsibilities and pass them to his VP if he got elected, but he'll just keep acting more insane to keep in the news cycle. I heard a recorded quote from him once where he said he loves creating things - stars, buildings, etc. but when the creation process is over, he's done with it and moving on to the next thing. I would think the election fits into that category.

Maybe if they had him carted off the stage in a straight jacked and they'd have him declared mentally unfit. That's the only way I'm thinking of, but it seems like he's close to that already.

Republicans think Trump might quit — so they’re scrambling to find a replacement: ABC News
Republican officials are so angry at Donald Trump and his imploding campaign that they’re considering replacing him at the top of the ticket just two weeks after nominating him.

The GOP nominee angered party officials by refusing to endorse House Speaker Paul Ryan and Sen. John McCain in their primary races, repeatedly insulting a Gold Star family, joking about receiving a Purple Heart and removing a noisy baby from a campaign rally — all in about four hours Tuesday afternoon.

Jon Karl, the chief White House correspondent for ABC News, reported Wednesday morning that Republican officials were scrambling to plan for the possibility that Trump might suddenly quit the presidential race.

If Trump Resigns, who knows.

Donald has done what no democratic politician could--or would. He is exposing the tumor. It needs to be removed.

Too bad it's going to be a chainsaw, not a scalpel.

The clothes aren't there to hide their nakedness. But they act like they are still resplendently covered up. Like they paid big money to have done.

14. How in Sam Hell does that happen?

How does one remove a nominated presidential candidate of one of the two major US political parties? One who's the result of a vetting of 17 candidates!

How does that happen? Is there even any protocol for such a thing?

Let's be honest.

GOP clusterfuck!

We are in uncharted territory here.
