While many talk of Trump quitting or being thrown out of the race, I think that is very unlikely

He's in it to win it, his horrible political skills notwithstanding. His ego will not allow him to quit. Being called a quitter is anathema to him. If faced with choosing between quitter or loser, I suspect he'll risk being a loser before he'll voluntarily be a quitter. I also think we should continue to treat him as a serious opponent - not a serious president or even a serious man, but for sure a serious opponent who will do or say anything to win.

The GOP can't risk dumping him for fear of an even bloodier bloodbath down ticket.

Meanwhile, Democrats need only stay the course and work hard to soften the result of the damage caused to HRC by decades of relentless right wing smears.

It is a world class understatement to say it will be interesting to see how this shakes out Siwsan Aug 2016 #1
I disagree. Trump loves the attention but does not want the responsibility. That's his nature. Trust Buster Aug 2016 #2

Trump will never drop out and if they try to remove him, he will tie them up in litigation until he and or the republican party self-immolates.

Just look at his kids. Their mothers brought them up but Trumo has grasped for all the glory. He is consciously setting the stage for an exit with his debates are rigged/election will be rigged talking points. I think he wants out but is looking for a face saving excuse. A fresh, unvetted Kasich will serve as an aphrodisiac to these nuts who have been harboring pent up self loathing over Trump for months.

I don't think he can invent an excuse to get out big enough to mollify his own ego.

he may, indeed, file for electoral bankruptcy.

I hope not, because there's enough time, for another candidate to take the reins....Newt, are you listening?

dunno what chance they'd have, but the MSM would rally so HARD and heavy to that person's side, it would make the destruction of Gore and Kerry look like their hagiographication of Bush in comparison

Republican elites may not like it - he defeated the "establishment" handily - but Trump is their candidate, and teabaggers love him!

The rightwing-machine demonization of Hillary and all Democrats continues at full throttle.

What has Trump managed to do? Dominate the news cycle 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The M$M hangs on his every "tweet" now!

What does Trump have to do to win, the pundits say? Just become slightly more reasonable?

He could drop out due to medical reasons, it worked to keep him out of the war. Or it is possible that he has a complete mental breakdown too an actual breakdown.

But being the Mad-Man that Trump is, will most likely propel him right on into November and a flaming defeat to which he has already set up to proclaim was fixed.
