I don't think Trump even wants to be president.

All he wants is the adulation from the crowds.
It's a drug to him, hoards of people that want to kiss his feet.

He may realize that if he became president his life would change.
He would be weighed down with actual responsibilities and couldn't spend all his time strutting about in front of fawning toadies.

I wouldn't be surprised if he even ducks out before the election with some kind of pissy excuse.
He's already talking about the election being rigged and the polls being faked.
Probably preparing his exit.

Lots of fun in store for Republicans this fall.

By the way, I haven't heard anyone talking about Trump's previous relationship with the Clintons.
He must have been at events and met them when Bill was president.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were friendly back then.

1. I think he 'wanted' to be President - it's the ultimate rush of power...

but now that the reality of how much actual work goes into running in a General, it's getting less and less fun for him. Though he certainly seems to love the adoration of his followers an awful lot.

He and the Clinton's certainly ran in the same circles - he donated money to both their campaigns and even (gasp) said some pretty nice things about Hillary and Democrats in general before all of this bullshit. They were at his latest wedding.

Somehow, I doubt they're particularly good friends anymore.

Admitting he lost and thanking his people for all the hard work they did for him?

Uh uh. No way.

He has taken over the party, is on the airwaves every day and is leading the way for people to express the worst of our country. There is also the nightmarish possibility that--I can't even bring myself to type it. He would be able to cause a lot of mischief in his few days of work before he hands off the job to someone possibly more sinister.

A huckster capable of garnering a tremendous crowd and really loving the attention of such a crowd. No astonishing phrase is too outlandish for Trump as each becomes more and more like adding another bus to the string that already seems too long be safely jumped.

And, he seems perfectly willing to face the self-destruction he's promoting in order to experience the adulation he perceives among the cheering gawkers (who may be more interested in watching him break every long bone in his body).

It's really cheap television so it gets coverage HUUUuuuuuggge coverage, and that says a lot about US media coverage of politics.

Trump's build up... has been and continues to be THE event of the election cycle! The Best build up! A Spectacular build-up!

The landing? Well, let's label it INEVITABLE!!! after all what goes up -must- come down.

His landings have not always been great. But after triage and treatment he's always survived to jump again.

off with unpolished fingernails and shoes to a rusty chair never to be heard from again, ruined like he has ruined thousands. Waiting to hear from those stiffed contractors. Let's see how the great business man does business after that.

He has no idea what the job of actually BEING the president really entails. The stress of it would drive him over the edge.

And if he ever does become president, there is no doubt he will go about exacting his revenge upon them.
