in one of the best arguments against automatic transmissions that weve ever seen,
the dogs shifted the car and drove it very slowly into the outside of the store.
The vehicle was first spotted by an employee out in front of the store on a break, according to local news station WSAZ. She thought that someone was messing with her when she saw the sedan inching toward her. She saw that there was no driver behind the wheel: only two dogs. She got out of the way, letting the car crash into the building.
Since the small dogs couldnt reach the gas pedal, the crash was at an extremely low speed, and there was very little damage to the car or to the store.

Fortunately there's an over-ride.

(93 posts)And enjoy car rides. They're so disappointed when we go somewhere and don't take them. But we don't take them when it's too warm and always park where they're in plain view with the car locked up, and I won't take them to places where there are very big parking lots where it might be easy for somebody to break in. They're small, so,I do get paranoid.

(60,010 posts)and the comment about auto transmission that made it possible.
Since I don't drive auto tranmissions, I am not clear if there was a hand brake to set?
or if simply leaving the gear in park made it possible to hit 1st gear.....

(7,347 posts)with automatic, you have to have your foot on the brake in order to shift out of park. So maybe the dogs were acting in cahoots?
