18. The URL for that image is using an 'https' connection. Maybe the decryption isn't functioning properly.

Parse the language. He is clearly saying that creation of those jobs, and the consequence of having to pay the serfs, was his sacrifice. All that money that should have belonged to him, gone! Until he figured out how to stiff them by declaring bankruptcy.
