The key to getting under Trumps's skin is to label him as mediocre.

Play against his oversized ego. Point out his many, many failures. Treat his accomplishments as the garbage they are. Make sure that everyone knows that he'll fail spectacularly if ever put in charge.

He'll do the rest of the work for you.

Yeah, this has been pretty obvious all along. I think the reason it didn't work for the Repub candidates might be because they were more aware of their own hypocrisy and couldn't keep straight faces. Most of the Dems have been "through the wars" so to speak. Especially the Clintons, who have been hit with just about every insult in the book over the years, so they basically just slough it off.

If anybody can smile and say, "That all you got, son?" it is Hillary.

Joking about small hands is comparable to mocking that journalist? To quote Biden, give me a break, that's a bunch of malarkey.
But maybe we need to add to DU's rules that we shouldn't mock Trump to not hurt some posters' feelings here.

Create the impression that everything that he does and says is nothing more than a facade. That basically, the emperor has no clothes.

If you over-emphasize his negative aspects, he's going to take pride in being depicted as the bad guy. He can transfer his self-worth there.

Instead, relegate his life as that of insignificant. That he has no value added.

To him, merely average is the worst insult ever.

he is indeed a classic narcissist.

usually with a narcissist, they only stay in contact with someone as long as that someone continually feeds their ego. Once that person stops doing that, the narcissist stops dealing with them and moves on to the next lackey.

but he can't do that with the American public.

so just make him irrelevant. he will go crazy.
