That's never the answer. And even if it were, Howard Dean is not the hero you're looking for.

Judy would chain him to the kitchen table if he did that again, and make him ask permission before leaving the Burlington city limits. She never saw much of him while he was DNC chairman. He's behind the scenes now in an advisory capacity. The one thing Howard never lets on in private is his own personal disappointments, so if he's being ignored, and is pissed about it (as in Jan-Feb 2009), he would never whine to me about it.

But Howard isn't even interested in being DNC chair again as long as we hold the White House. While Cheney (dba W) was in power, the DNC chair was the head of the party as well. Howard didn't just play with rule changes, he made the earth move beneath his feet. He explained to me that when we hold the White House, the President is head of the party, and he didn't want any conflicts with a newly inaugurated Obama. This is why he stepped down when Obama won, and hasn't sought the position again since.
