It sounds as if people are hoping for, praying for, angling for, working for a disrupted convention.
I know people want to discuss shit, but please. There is a LOT at stake here.
For Democrats, here are the essential facts:
Clinton beat Sanders. Sanders has endorsed Clinton and his team is suggesting to his followers they do the same.
DWS is out.
Clinton has a veep candidate
Even Jeff Weaver blew off the email crap.
If people can't come together now, then maybe they just don't want to ever come together.
Speaking just for myself, if the outcome of our primaries had been reversed, I'd be all in for Bernie. But it didn't, so I am all in for Clinton.
Yeah, I know. PUMA.
Save it. I heard it all before.

Honestly, I was going to complain about the 3 cable news channels last night (Saturday). MSNBC and CNN did not have an election news but Fox News did. I thought instead of prison stories replaying Hillary and tim's speech would have been better.
24 hours later, I am glad they didn't have news because they would have just talked emails.

With the Supreme Court in the balance, the effect spreads too many decades to ignore, marginalize, or consider "the same old crap." We all need to stand up and do something for our country..... I pointed it out to my friend in 1988 - Bush vs. Dukakis - "it's the most important election in our lifetime..."
and he was like "they say that every election"... and I come to find out that it is true.
But no.... this election.... this one, is the real different one, honestly.

I'm not blowing off the email crap, a few more people involved in the corruption need to find alternative jobs. Lobbying sounds good, there are few ethics to violate there. However, I'm also not naive enough to think they shaved enough off Sanders's numbers to cause him to lose.
He might have lost the nomination, but he won a lot of the platform.
That's what we need to realize and that's why we need to keep this together and support Clinton.

Yes, it's infuriating that the Republican mentality of cheating to win has taken hold in our party, too. I hope we can get rid of it, and quickly.

I want an active convention. Democracy is messy. I don't mind messy, and I don't consider democracy to be disruptive.
I WANT everyone who will to take the issues to the convention and beyond. I WANT Hillary Clinton to know that issues have to mean more than lip service. I want Hillary Clinton to know that the revolution is not going away. It really has nothing whatsoever to do with party unity nor party disunity.
The party is not unified, and is not likely to be unified any time soon.
We WILL work to defeat Donald Trump. I'm all in for 2 things: 1. Defeat Trump. 2. Political Revolution, which, for me, means the extinction of neoliberalism.

(21,086 posts)I haven't said anything at all, to anyone, anywhere here or outside of DU, about the "email thing."
It's not email that has the party divided.
I have also said very little about either Clinton or Kaine, and probably will not have much to say about them at all until November 3rd, and maybe not even them. I'm clearly not suggesting anything whatsoever concerning them. Over the course of the last year, I've said exactly 3 things about Clinton, and none of them had to do with emails. Since she announced Kaine as her running mate, I've said exactly one thing about him, and it had nothing to do with emails.
Believe it or not, we're not all obsessed with "this email thing." As a matter of fact, I'm only vaguely aware of it. Something about a dump somewhere by somebody, proving what was obvious from the beginning? Don't bother to explain. I'm really not interested.
What is party unity? If it's voting against Trump, yeah, I 'm in.
But I'm not going to stop calling for a more progressive Democratic party.

It's good she's stepping down. It would be far worse if she wasn't.
So yes, Unity. I think even with these events our convention will stand in stark contrast to the clusterfuck in cleveland.

Wasserman Schultz to Have a New Role in Clinton Campaignby The Associated Press
July 24, 2016, 5:42 PM EDT
Hillary describes her as a longtime friend.
Hillary Clinton is thanking her longtime friend Debbie Wasserman Schultz after the Florida congresswomans decision to step down as chair of the Democratic National Committee. Clinton says that Wasserman Schultz will serve as honorary chair of her campaigns 50-state program to help elect Democrats around the country.
The presumptive Democratic presidential nominee says she looks forward to campaigning with Wasserman Schultz in Florida and helping her re-election bid. Clinton responded after Wasserman Schultz agreed to step down as chair at the end of this weeks Democratic National Convention.

(45,319 posts)at some later date you need their good will. One reaps what one sows. I was thinking today of the 'That's not Bernie' in those photos of Bernie routine. Folks playing that sort of game have no standing to whine when found out to be playing that sort of a game. It's the game they wanted to play. Would it be better right now to not to have spent those months making untruthful claims about photos and chairs and insinuating all forms of wickedness? I do think that it would.

In one block I count 5 houses that are Trumper's (2 fly the Confederate flag and the other 3 are just pussies for not as I've lived here for most of 20 years and know what they think).
Before she died my sister told a bunch of crap to the neighbors (nasty crap as she was a narcissist of Trump category and she was believed, but I digress) and my children's mother is Asian.
