Lots of inappropriate things happened on the third night of the Republican National Convention. Crowds booed Ted Cruz and berated his wife Heidi, who had to be escorted from her seat by security. Conservative radio show host Laura Ingraham threw up what looked a lot like a Nazi salute after her speech. Trump air-kissed his running mate, Mike Pence.
But, amid these happenings that sound like plot points in a Veep episode but are actually real life, heres what a sizeable portion of Fox News viewers seemed to find scandalous, unacceptable, and deeply inappropriate: Megyn Kellys outfit.
Kelly wore a spaghetti strap, V-neck shirt that showed her shoulder and her upper chest.

(182,826 posts)Those were another story. Every other network had tucked in earpieces and soft mics. Fox had on full Radar O'Reilly headsets. Maybe they were too close to a speaker.

(8,692 posts)I work for a legal and accounting firm, that outfit, in July on a woman who's breasts aren't falling out of it would raise no eyebrows.
I really don't care, I haven't watched fifteen minutes of Fox News in the past twenty years. But I guarantee if you asked her who she chose that top she would say because it is ridiculously hot.

(65,616 posts)There is just too much real important stuff in the world to worry about something even less than superficial. They can maybe refine their paranoia down to fundamentalist gray and jail each other, on the moon would be nice.
Okay having said that, maybe The Megyn is looking to jump ship. Now that Socknews is in full mutiny, someone else will give her a bigger contract. CNN picked up Trump's Dump to be fair and balanced, maybe they are in the market for a third rate anchor.

(9,959 posts)...FOX "News" women are expected to show as much leg as possible. Nobody complains about the mini-skirts. Nobody notes how the men wear full suits - no shorts or shirtless men. Aren't the women expected to show a lot of skin? I thought it was in their FOX contracts?

(9,959 posts)...plenty of female flesh has always been part of the FOX "News" formula.

(1,788 posts)Imagine Tweety wearing a sleeveless shirt at the convention. Having said that, I thought Fox viewers love them some half-nekkid women on their teevees.

(6,238 posts)I thought the dress was actually pretty. To be fair, I mostly work from home so I guess I'm not a good judge of "professional," but it seemed fine to me.

(1,499 posts)We can listen to the GOP (and unfortunately others) complain about female broadcast personalities dressing un-professionally right after they start talking about the "professionalism" of the attire of male broadcast personalities.
