http://winningdemocrats.com/creepy-perv-donald-trump-just-felt-up-his-daughter-in-front-of-millions-of-people-video/Heres the clip Im referring to, in case you missed it, of Ivanka Trump welcoming her father, Lord Cheeto, onto the stage at the RNC:
Interpret it however you like; feel free to disagree. After everything Ive seen it seems glaringly apparent that this man has unnatural thoughts and feelings about his daughter.

(1,307 posts)she pulls her arm towards her and bends it, slightly covering her stomach, and pulls in/back her stomach. This is how women react when we are touched inappropriately on the breasts, abdomen or hips, and want to remain calm and not "make a scene."
sarae
(3,284 posts)exactly what I was thinking when I watched it. I was cringing because that's exactly how most women react when touched inappropriately in public.

TOTALLY INAPPROPRIATE.

(28,276 posts)Your "nothing-burger" dismissal might have some validity---except for Trump's prior lascivious comments in public about his daughter's physical attributes and his admitted fantasizing about dating her. Decent, respectful fathers treat their daughters in a certain way---Trump appears to be flunking that behavioral test, big-time.

(65,490 posts)inappropriate touching (or worse), the child is not the one being creepy, nor can the child be blamed for not taking control and telling the adult to "F off."

Below the waist is a no-no and so is scoping your daughter's bod out like that. In the context of his prior highly inappropriate remarks about how sexually attractive he finds her, this is just beyond the pale.
I totally believe that he raped that 12 yo girl who is suing him now.

(42,623 posts)I didn't have the TV on at the time, but I was following the live blog on Wonkette and somebody made a comment about him grabbing her ass. I figured it was a quick brush/accidental touch in the general region and the commenter was exaggerating for humorous effect, but I saw the video earlier today and went, "Whoa! That is inappropriate."

(44,397 posts)Several social media users were taken aback by the odd way he greeted her on stage, first affectionately grabbing her arm, and then awkwardly patting her hip.
Though a smile remained on her face, her arm shot away from her father's side the moment he touched the spot in the strangely intimate gesture.

(12,406 posts)to the marrow of my bones, but this isn't a thing for me. My dad used to hug and touch my arms, pat me on the tush occasionally like he did when I was a kid, when he was in his nineties and me in my sixties. I wish he were still around to give me those hugs whenever we met. He never abused me as a child, and I never thought his pats were anything other than a dad showing normal affection to his daughter.
I did think Trumps verbal remarks re. Ivanka were pretty creepy, though. My dad would never have spoken like that.

(8,028 posts)when Ivanka's speech hit the following crescendo:
"He will fight for equal pay for equal work, and I will fight for this too, right along side of him."
What? ... As FLOTUS? I think the Trumps have their familial role identities scrambled.
Suddenly, the awkward touching exudes a more nefarious, Oedipal appearance...

(4,449 posts)I don't touch anyone like that. Some zones are off limits unless you're in a relationship, and otherwise it's hands off. And good gosh, I couldn't imagine patting any female relatives like that. But I would imagine that a power-drunk asshole would.
I think that Trump is probably one of those parents who values his children based on their physical appearance. My mom talks about how her mom was marginalized by her grandmother because her mother was not an attractive child. So personally, I think it was more about asserting ownership of his daughter in a completely superficial way. As in, "look at the gorgeous daughter I created" *once-over* *pat pat*.
And if you assume that he didn't mean anything by it and it was just affection, as a Presidential candidate, you have to have better judgment than that! You don't once-over your daughter and pat her on the hips!
