I am looking for feedback on my art from my daily companions, DUer's. This is my art if anyone wants some, knows someone who might want some, or wants to learn.

(113 posts)I moved away 20 years ago though I have family there and visit twice a year. I love and miss Lincoln but it's not exactly a tourist mecca. The Univ. of Nebraska campus is near downtown and that's where much of the action in Lincoln is. Interesting museums on campus, especially Sheldon Art Museum. A tour of the uniquely designed state capitol building is cool (Lots of great mural art and a great view of the city from the top). As a UNL graduate, much of my final years in town were spent in the bars and watering holes downtown. Not sure if that's your scene but I had a great deal of fun. Maybe check out The Zoo bar for great blues music (really, it's a highly regarded tour spot for national acts).
Have fun...the people of Lincoln are lovely (and it's pretty darn progressive for a town in a very red state).

(53,410 posts)This is real art to me. The unique things that come out of people who have that thing called talent.

(2,231 posts)Its 3' x 6' glass on wood and it hangs in the waiting room, where people wait for hours and hours. The whole time I worked on it i listened to Jeff Buckley singing "Sweet Thing"

(50,444 posts)it immediately sends a warm, loving, caring feeling out to those who view it, it certainly did to me anyway.

(2,231 posts)I hope you look at it one day whilst listening to Jeff Buckley wail out Van Morrison's song "Sweet Thing" . That is the combo good-feeling gift.

The one called Food bank... or something like that... stopped me in my tracks!!
You should look into the Cherry Creek Arts Festival in Denver. It's a highly attended, juried attraction.... I've never seen anything like your work there. I have two windows in my house that were, originally, stained glass. They are crying for your attention!!!!
Welcome to Colorado!

(2,231 posts)It was for the retiring founder of The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. The entire staff helped to work on this 6' x 8' glass on wood mosaic, in secret, behind a curtain with me, for two weeks. It graces their lobby.

(2,231 posts)I won't stop until i can't do it anymore. It's how I am alive. I am glad to share it. When i die, I hope it's like falling into saturated color and movement. (though it would be better not to die from falling into a bunch of glass shards)
