This Trump Statement Should Disqualify This Man. He Is Unfit For Any Government Office In The USA.

“I’ve got black accountants at Trump Castle and at Trump Plaza — black guys counting my money!” O’Donnell’s book quoted Trump as saying. “I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day. Those are the kind of people I want counting my money. Nobody else. .?.?. Besides that, I’ve got to tell you something else. I think that the guy is lazy. And it’s probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is; I believe that. It’s not anything they can control.”

It was Trump again in 1991 who trafficked in ugly racial and religious stereotypes when he whined that he didn't like Black guys counting his money. "The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day." As Trump said then, "laziness is a trait in blacks."

The same Donald Trump who spent several months in 2011 questioning the authenticity of President Obama's birth certificate and demanding to see the president's college transcripts then turned around and claimed "I have a great relationship with the Blacks." The Blacks? Who says that? And, more importantly, who believes that?

here's exactly what the Constitution says about qualifications for being President:

No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty-five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.

So no matter what offensive things he says, he's still qualified to be President. Running around and saying that his statements disqualify him, shows a profound lack of understanding of the Constitution on your part.

The Constitution addresses only the former.

As with other jobs, lots of people apply and thus are "eligible", but that does not make them qualified.

I really don't like it when I see posts here that display a fundamental lack of understanding of things I'd expect people here to understand.

There's NOTHING about being "qualified" to be President. Only being eligible. Who's going to set the qualifications? That would be a dangerous road to go down.

What we want to be doing at all levels is exposing the stupidity of Donald Trump and those around him. And support good Democratic candidates at all levels.

To acknowledge that a minimum eligibility standard is different from standards for determining qualifications, and that you are then judging someone else (fellow DUers and kpete in particular) as somehow being lacking in understanding. I'm eligible to be president but I'm definitely not qualified.

It is absolutely appropriate for voters to decide what qualifications they believe a person needs to have to be president. This may differ from person to person. And my guess would be that a lot of people would agree about some of the qualifications needed.

He has repeatedly said things that have instantly ended other candidates run for office. With him, not so much. I think the bottom line is that he made being racist, homophobic, cruel and crude ok again. This is a reflection of the people who support him. If they didn't agree with him, they would not support him the way they do. It is a scary thought to think there are so many people eager to vote for a sociopath because they feel the same way he does. Downright sickening....

His teflon status is largely do to the fact that we have a media that not only refuses to highlight or investigate his shortcomings and outright lies, but actually revels in those thing and promotes them continuously in the quest for ratings and revenue.

Were the media not complicit in this sham of a campaign Trump would have been back to hawking worthless crap and ripping off sub contractors at one of his projects months ago.

he just wants the role so he can direct others on how to tank our economy so that he can siphon off a lot of our money. He also wants to make lots of Oval Office speeches (of course with no teleprompter). The reason he gives so many different answers to the same question is because none of this matters to him so he gives it no forethought, just answers in the heat of the moment. He is so vile.
