Everybody share the good (ie high paying) truly productive jobs, stop all of the make work, and we can have a 2-day work week.

6. I was going to post the same thing. I haven't seen an 8 hour day in 10

maybe 12 years, and a 6 day week is a break.

Also haven't had a real vacation since 2000.

8. Unfortuately, your story is more the norm than...

The exception these days. Employers want to cut workforce and then squeeze evey last drop out of the people they have left (basically get the same work done with a fraction of the people). That's why the 1% really doesn't mind a high unemployment rate, they have the upper-hand and can call the shots.

(And in many cases died) for so many things we take for granted today. The 8 hr/5 day work-week, anti-child labor laws, worker protections, safe workplace laws, environmental protections, minimum wage, social security, medicare, food stamps, establishment of city, state and national parks, equal rights, public education, veterans benefits, public libraries, healthcare...the list goes on and on...

There is one common factor in all of these battles: The rights of the 99% vs the greed of the 1%. The 1% cares about their bottom line, profiteering and their egos only...these battles have been fought againt GREED. Liberals care about the greater good, period.

From where we are now, things have gotten worse and it appears we have a lot of work to do!

But now there's tee vee and religion has upended into the opposite of what it always (at least in stories) represented.

Too many have fallen for the siren song being sent out by the 1%.
