They are doing this country a HUGE service these next four evenings!!
If anyone has any good suggestions, let me know because I certainly don't have the stomach for live tv these next few days. . .

(10,952 posts)I love this show. Netflix has all 5 seasons. Timothy Hutton plays a former Insurance Investigator who takes a team of people made up of a grifter, a thief, a computer hacker and muscle and they become the good guys by helping the people achieve justice.

(36,463 posts)The Battered Bastards of Baseball is a 2014 documentary film about the Portland Mavericks, a defunct minor league baseball team. They played five seasons in the Class A-Short Season Northwest League, from 1973 through 1977. Owned by actor Bing Russell, the Mavericks were an independent, without the affiliation of a parent team in the major leagues.
Bing got his start in baseball as the 'unofficial' Yankee bat boy, but most people knew him as Bonanza's Deputy Clem Foster....that is, until he showed up in Portland, Oregon, and created something totally wonderful.

(36,463 posts)When I think about the Mavericks, I don't really think much about baseball. I think about those guys. I think about those characters, and the fact that they enjoyed themselves more than I'd ever seen grown men enjoy themselves. I remember thinking I hope I feel that way when I grow up. And that was as profound a guiding light as I would ever get. - Todd Field

Fun baseball factoid: Todd Field and Maverick Pitcher/Pitching Coach Rob Nelson created the first batch of Big League Chew in the Field family kitchen.
