Majority of U.S.-Mexico border residents don't want Donald Trump's wall

" A majority of people living on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border are against building a wall between the countries, a proposal championed by Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump, according to a major bilingual poll released Monday.
The survey found:
86 percent of Mexican border residents and 72 percent of U.S. border residents oppose building a wall.
77 percent of Mexican border residents and 70 percent of U.S. border residents describe the issue as "not important."
69 percent of Mexican border residents and 59 percent of U.S. border residents believe the tone of the U.S. presidential campaign could damage relations with Mexico.
The poll surveyed 1,427 residents in April and May in seven pairs of "sister cities" stretching from California/Baja California through Arizona/Sonora to Texas/Tamaulipas. The margin of error was plus or minus 2.6 percentage points.
