A Photo That Mike Pence Posted To Twitter Is Really Freaking People Out

It’s only been a day since Donald Trump announced that the Indiana governor would be his running mate. But he already has us scratching our heads, after posting this optical illusion-style photograph to Twitter.



At first glance, it appears Pence is simply enjoying a meal with his wife, Karen, and one of their daughters. In fact, he captioned the image as such.

“Busy weekend in NY!” he wrote. “Enjoying a quick dinner with the family at @Chilis. Looking forward to getting back to Indiana.”

But on closer inspection, it appears that his daughter doesn’t have a reflection in the mirror that the trio is sitting beside. Take a look for yourself. Pence’s reflection? Check. His wife’s? Check. But his daughter’s? Hmmm, nope.

It’s sparked debate on Twitter, with some people questioning whether it had been Photoshopped or was the result of a bizarre optical effect.

notice Pence and wife have plates in front of them; whereas, the daughter doesn't. Though it is possible that her plate was already cleared away.

Weird, and he is not taking the picture as one can tell from the angle. There also appears to be someone beside the wife in the reflection but not in the picture. As everyone is saying the daughter has no drink of her own or plate of her own. There is no way that Pence is blocking her entire reflection either --plus other details are changed. This seems like a cheap photoshop to pump up the "Pence Family Man" motif that was so desperately peddled at the convention.

That is something else, not her chin. Nor do I see her hair or any other sign of her (plus that doesn't explain her lack of food of beverages which all belong to mom and dad) in photo. And yes I have enlarged the photo.

you can see just a bit of his daughter's outfit.

otherwise he is completely blocking her.

To me, it would seem impossible that he'd block her entire body given the angles of reflection that the visible edge of the table where she should be, as well as the glass (the one on the left at the edge of the table), would indicate.
