Doesn't Jihadist translate into Holy Warrior?

Why would ANY leader or news reporter honor mass-murderers by calling them Jihadist? The Koran does not endorse the killing of unsuspecting people, who are not even similar to combatants. The elite cannot avoid being slaughtered by the terrorist they have finally created; and Muslims, who do not truly worship Allah, are only part of the problem. Right-wing extremist are deadly. Stirring up racial tension between minorities and police is extremely dangerous. Recent mass murder in France is the tip of an iceberg. Humanity is rushing toward extinction, like the Titanic.

Jihad also means the struggle to do right in one's belief and life. NightWatcher Jul 2016 #2

I had a co-worker, who was from Iran, worked at a defense contractor in IT funny enough, who's name was Jihad. He told me it translated to the word "love". It upset him that the word had evolved into something evil and dark.
He was a very thoughtful and kind human being. He moved away, not sure where, a couple of years after I met him.
I regret The bastardization of the name as well. We need more ways to say "love" than "hate".
