Couple arrested for squatting accept plea deals (AZ)

PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) — ... Randall Skates and Jennifer Skates will be sentenced to between 2.5 and 7.5 years in prison after accepting plea agreements on Wednesday. They were charged with forgery, theft, and criminal damage.
The couple appears to hold beliefs associated with the Sovereign Citizens Movement. Police say the couple believed the unoccupied house was theirs because banks are not people and have no right to own property.
