Gun store avoids talking about Confederate flag

Bianca Graulau, KXTV 6:43 AM. PDT July 14, 2016

The Confederate flag is back up at the Wild Bill's Old West Trading Co. in Elk Grove and the owner didn't want to talk about why.

In July 2015, the store's owner told ABC 10 they were taking it down after protests in front of the store. He said his employees were getting threats. A few months later, the store started selling the flag. On Wednesday, July 13, a year after it was removed, the Confederate flag was outside the store, flying alongside signs which read 'Trump for President' and a note to the media that read: 'You know why we fly the flag so there will be no need to speak to anyone about why it's back out! You twist the truth! Also don't enter the store!'

The owner declined to speak to ABC 10.

As reporter Bianca Graulau waited outside the store, hoping to talk to customers, Elk Grove police arrived, having been called by the store. Officers told the ABC 10 crew they had a legal right to be on the private parking lot that is open to the public ...

The poor dears, being asked about their demented beliefs. According to the story, after the cops declined to oust the news crew, an employee set of his car alarm in the parking lot. Then an employee came out and showed off the gun he had tucked in his pants. The implicit threat was enough to get the news folks to leave at last.

And once again, guns and the confederacy are saved!

Which will happen first: Wild Bill's will be the scene of a shooting spree, an accidental weapon discharge, or be exposed as a hub for sexual exploitation of minors?

But yeah, on the surprise scale, that possibility doesn't register. That is, wouldn't surprise me a bit.

There's a pretty large section of guns that are only for sale for LEOs as well. It's obviously a decent sized chunk of their business.

That's reassuring, innit?
