He talked about trying to enter the Capitol, as a senator wearing the official pin issued only to senators, and a Capitol Police officer stopped him and said: "'The pin I know. You, I don't. Show me your ID.'"

In another article I cannot find, he spoke about being arrested for driving a nice car while black.
But still, some people do not think it happens when African American officials from BOTH parties tells you it happens(happened) to them.
