School Hangs Up Student’s Drawing of Jesus Saying ‘I Want You to Kill All Infidels’

Sacrilegious or just a harmless classroom assignment?
Aren’t American fundagelical children adorable (like their parents)? Or look at it this way: the Taliban will have nothing on the next generation of Christians.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A student-drawn picture posted inside a Fresno Unified school is sparking debate over whether it's sacrilegious or just a harmless classroom assignment.

The picture is on display in the lobby of Hamilton Elementary School in Central Fresno. It depicts Jesus with the caption, "I want you to kill all infidels." The term infidel comes from ancient history and was used to describe people who had no faith. The picture was created by a seventh grade student as part of a history assignment.

"The picture itself I feel goes against everything Christianity stands for."

In the picture, you can see a man wearing a Jesus name tag, with the caption, "I want you to kill all infidels." Below, the phrases: "meet me in Jerusalem" and "get a free ticket to heaven." The artwork is one of several drawings in a display case inside the main lobby at Hamilton Elementary.

The kid has made a sarcastic recruitment poster for the Crusades. Isn't that obvious?

I'm going to follow the link to see if the TV station mentions this.

ETA: OK, both links mention that it was indeed an assignment to create a recruitment poster for the Crusades. Don't like it? Don't use Jesus to justify wars.

It's close enough Luke 19:27 to be fully accurate, if you ask me

What makes you think the kid is of that persuasion?

I'd be inclined to guess that it is just the opposite from what you assume, and that the kid is making a statement on the Crusades as being antithetical to Christian belief.
